Writing (and the creative process in general) is like a recovery meeting.
No one in there is doing great. No one is there to be their best, most polished self. They all show up just as they are, and they are there to share, to connect, and eventually climb out of that pit together.
Creating a piece of art is just like that. You show up first. You share. It doesn’t have to be perfect (will it ever even be?).
There will be a time for polishing. That’s not now. Leave your perfectionism behind. Get it out.
Don’t let the fear of judgement stop you from sharing your work. Press “Post” on that article. Hang that painting on the wall.
