Find out how normal people write

I am tired of reading articles from writers who tell you how to make time to write when their job is literally writing that article telling you how to make time to write.

I have a classic 9 to 5, I commute to work, I have to buy groceries and do the laundry and keep up with my friendships. I like running, climbing, reading and cooking. I am in a relationship and I have parents to call and a dog to walk.

I am your ordinary human, living an ordinary life.

Over the years, I have acquired a lot of tricks to help me keep up my writing practice, and I’m sure other ordinary people like me also have their hidden strategies — but they are so hidden I can’t find them anywhere.

I don’t want to know how renowned authors and established writers manage to write. That’s their job.

I want to know how normal people do it.

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received is: If you can’t find the book you want to read, write it.

This might not be a book, but it’s my attempt to find out how ordinary people like me, with a 9 to 5 and a busy schedule, make the time to write— and in most cases, how they produce some spectacular pieces too.
